This is a course of fun, easy to follow lessons which educate, inform and inspire young people to affect change in a world where plastic pollution is at a critical level. We are in a time when people, globally, should celebrate and honour our planet, whose land and sea connects us all. Working together, we can and will protect our shared Earth. Each well structured 60 minute lesson brings to life key elements in an engaging and experiential ‘hands-on’ way to encourage learning and understanding. The workshops, and accompanying factsheets, are designed to lead the students through a process of learning to understand how damaging waste plastic is and where it comes from, so as to inspire them with the motivation to do something about the problem in their daily lives. The sensory garden treasure hunt project aims to teach students about the importance of ecosystems, plant biology, climate change and global citizenship. The lessons incorporate interactive learning by including field (outdoor) based activities. The lesson plan document outlines the activity in more detail.
